In Q1 2023, the top five Delivered Meal Kits and Specialty Foods applications on the iOS platform in the Netherlands demonstrated varied performance metrics in terms of weekly downloads and active users. Here’s a closer look at each app’s performance based on data from Sensor Tower.

HelloFresh: Meal Kit Delivery started the quarter with approximately 1K downloads and saw a significant increase, peaking at around 2.6K downloads in the week of January 9. Towards the end of the quarter, downloads declined to roughly 1.7K. The app's weekly active users fluctuated throughout the quarter, starting at about 33.6K and peaking at 38.6K in early January before ending the quarter at approximately 33K users.

Vivino: Buy the Right Wine experienced a steady decline in weekly downloads from around 5.4K at the beginning of the quarter to approximately 1.3K by the end of March. Active users followed a similar trend, starting at 27.2K and decreasing to about 13.8K by the end of the quarter. Revenue for Vivino remained low and stable, fluctuating between $1 and $2 per week.

Green Chef: Healthy Recipes saw its weekly downloads peak at 778 in mid-March, with a notable dip to 282 in mid-February. Active users increased from 695 at the start of the quarter to a high of 1.7K in mid-March, before settling at around 1.5K by the end of the quarter.

Marley Spoon maintained relatively stable weekly downloads, starting at 139 and reaching a peak of 300 in the week of January 23. Active users showed a slight decline throughout the quarter, beginning at 1.7K and ending at about 1.5K.

Boerschappen, a newer entrant, saw its weekly downloads rise from 78 at the start of the quarter to a peak of 218 in mid-March, before settling at 142 by the end of March.
